Every time a volunteer shows up at Makapo, someone's life changes—a first-time paddler feels the water under them for the first time, a parent finally exhales because their child is welcomed exactly as they are, an athlete crosses a finish line they weren't sure they'd reach. None of that happens without you. Volunteers aren't just helping out at Makapo—you are the program. Without our volunteer crew, Ohana Days don't happen, para-outrigger sessions don't run, and youth paddlers don't get the mentors who believe in them. That's how essential this work is.
